I think most of us know the Gmail notifier firefox extension or add-on as its call now.

Is there any add-on that notifies you when you have a new email in a thunderbird account?

I know they are two different things (gmail and thunderbird) but I think there must be a link in between firefox and thunderbird and we should use it.

Thunderbird Webmail

We have firefox we have thunderbird we have a firefox store so why don't we get thunderbird webmail?

I've been thinking about it for a while but I never thought to put a post about it. I've always just used my E-mail providers webmail when I'm not home but I think thunderbird should have a webmail for if your away or whatever so tell me what you think and hopefully the admins will respond and maybe do it!

My 2 thoughts on marketing Thunderbird:

market the product B2B as a roll-in with various security providers' packages - providers who want to be "software neutral", etc.
anything... I mean, when was the last time you saw a Thunderbird ad or logo in any widespread campaign?

extension idea

I tought it would be great that when you send or receive an e-mail you can attach a file.

For example; if I send an application for a job: I attach my resume and cover letter to send with the e-mail, but it would be great if I could save the text of the position I applied for on the computer. So when I receive news for this application, i search my sent mails and retrieve informations, why i sent it.

Tabbed Email Reading

I wonder if this is possible...

I have a Yahoo! Mail account that I don't use anymore, and the Yahoo! mail page looks like an e-mail client, sort of like Thunderbird. An exception is that they have tabbed e-mail reading.

Since Firefox has tabbed browsing, why can't Thunderbird have tabbed email reading?

If this is a bad idea, feel free to criticize me.

Recieved an email from someone asking me if I have heard of a program called emailStripper (it's not what you think) its a program to remove the ">" from Fwd emails to make it easier to read.

I thought it was cool idea, but was dissappointed when I tried it. It does not integrate with your email, it is just a window where you can cut an paste your email and then a button to perform a Find&Replace action Find ">" Replace with "". I thought well... that's cool but anyone with notepad can do that!

What would be cool however is a Thuderbird extension that has a button toggle so you wouldn't have to cut and paste. This person already uses Thunderbird, and this extension would give users a nice reason to try it out!

Mozilla Lightning

I’m a huge fan of all Mozilla products but Firefox and Thunderbird are my favorites.
I just discovered Lightning which is a calendar extension for Thunderbird (that’s over simplifying it). This thing is awesome. Great interface, very intuitive, a lot of bells and whistles. If you don’t use Thunderbird, then what’s wrong with you?
But if you do use Thunderbird, you’ll love this extension. It’s basically 2 applications merged into one. Checkout the link to the full screenshot. You really can’t appreciate it without seeing Lightning in full view.

I’ve started work on an online Thunderbird Guide and have just finished the 1st 4 pages which are dedicated to marketing Thunderbird. The guide will eventually grow into what the sites Firefox Guide is now, and contain a beginner’s guide etc.
You can earn Points with these promos by associating your Thunderbird Affiliate ID to them, the same as you do the Firefox ones.
There’s 3 pages of Thunderbird promotional graphics including the official ones, some unique ones and some Thunderbird logos.
If you’re a graphical artists who has or can make Thunderbird wallpapers, then PM me to discuss content inclusion in the guide.

Thunderbird Calander!

I just thought of a great idea... my mom has a calander on Microsoft Outlook. And I came to think... hey! Maybe ThunderBird could have something like it! It would be nice, and could bring a couple of people to get ThunderBird. Hopefully it isn't that hard to code... (I can't code for my life)
