How Can I Become A College Rep?

I'm a student at the University of Oregon and would love to do some work for Firefox there. What do I need to do to get involved?

I like the idea too, but I don't want to join an abandoned project.

I wanted to help at my University, so I surfed around spreadfirefox, both on the banner pages and under "wordsmiths." I eventually made a few posters, flyers, etc. of my own, printed them at home, and just stapled them up to a few of the bulliten boards on campus.

If you want to be a college rep, just print a flyer and post it. And then post something here about what you've done...

I suppose, all you need to do is make or download some Firefox flyers and pin them up around the campus. Perhaps add your details so that people can come to you with queries?

Use your initiative guys!!

Flyers and posters can be found here

Hope this helps. :)

I am having the same problem. I attend a school in Canada, and also wish to become a College Rep, but cannot send any mail to bart@mozilla.org.

well if the three of u cant get to him by mail... the only logical explanation is that either his mail account was deleted or he is no longer in a position to reply to the mail (ie dead, fired)..

as far as college rep is concerned i have a few suggestions that have worked out very well in my case .. first of all if there is an official website or a web forum in ur coll/univ make an upload there ... paste the ad banners available if possible (works very well if the course info is available on that site) ....

secondly ask ur friends to give it a try ..

the place where i am studying has nearly 80% population using firefox just due to the implementation of these methods

how would you recommend getting a university to endorse firefox? I mean going to the tech service center and computer labs and discussing firefox with the people who work there and provide those services and have them encourage the use is one step. but any other ideas?

i think it is a very good suggestion and i think it will work out just fine .. u can also talk to the deans and get them to acknowledge the fact that supporting open source is better, rather best for them as it allows faster and easier development of ideas and work on the whole .. also telling them about cost benefits will be great help 2
