Thunderbird on OS X

I never thought I would try Thunderbird because I had heard that it wasn't as good as Firefox. However in the last couple of weeks Eudora has decided to randomly eat one of my emails every time I replicate with the IMAP server...Not good!

So I downloaded Thunderbird and I was very pleasantly surprised. Firefox is quite buggy on OS X still so I was expecting the same here, and couldn't believe it when it ran flawlessly. Not only that but it was much faster and prettier than Eudora, Mail, or Outlook Express. When I am running Firefox, Adium (gaim), and Snak (IRC) on OS X I can't keep Eudora open because it slows the computer to a halt. However with thunderbird this is no problem. Even though with Eudora I could have theoretically gotten notified of my new email every 10 minutes this was in practice impossible, so I am only now enjoying this and seeing how great it is for the first time with Thunderbird. The spam filter also pleasantly surprised me. I still can't get over how much faster it is, I always thought my email transfered slowly because it took a long time to download my messages and not because my email program was the suck.

To the Thunderbird team: THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU!

I love Thunderbird on the Mac as well, but will wait on native Address Book support before I make the switch from mail.app.
