Sorry for the double post, i should have previewed the first version, please post in this thread. Sorry.

Hi, At my university in Scotland, theres a lot of junk mail goes around the from invidiual students to everyone (using the Student - All mailing list) most of it is ignored but I usually see people paying attention to questionaire/survays sent out by students (usually to gather statistics for some 5th year project or something) because usually at the end if you fill in all the questions and submit your email address you're entered into a prize draw.

Perhaps people should send a questionaire around their university email system which starts off by encouraging them to download and try FireFox on their home computers then to fill in their opinion about it after trying it for about a week.

I would consider sending a questionaire around my university except:

- I think it should be send on the 9th Nov when 1.0 is launched (Firstly so they don't feal they're just playing with a beta version - they are using a brand new piece of software, also so if they downloaded it say the 6th, they would get annoyed having to upgrade three days later and mabye not bother)

- I don't know what questions to include thta would be useful research (i think the last question should be: "How likely are you to make FireFox your primary browser" but I'm not sure about the rest)

- People might not try FireFox, they may just click random answers on stuff to be entered to the draw dishonestly. Perhaps because they can't be bothered, or mabye they think they must respond quicky if I didn't make it clear enough they have like a month or so so fill in the questionaire. (I was thinking mabye including 5 or so trivia questions on FireFox you must get right to be elegable such as:

"How do you add a search engine to the search field?

a. Click the icon in the search field and select "Add engines..."

b. Via the Tools>Options... menu

c. You cannot, It always searches Google.com"

- I thought of this idea because amazon.com gives you money off things sometimes if you answer trivia about amazon.com - it secretly tricks you into learning the cool things about amazon.com while rewarding you for learning about them. I think this is clever of them. People will think they are just gathering answers for the questionaire when they are atually learning how cool FireFox is.)

- I can't think of a prize-draw prize good enough to make it worth downloading a new peice of software and trying it for a week before filling a questionaire. - I probably can't afford a prize or prizes without help. (I'm a student, my bank account is recovering the iPod I bought for myself two weeks ago and i haven't started xmas shopping for my family yet.)

Can anyone help with this? Even if it's just suggesting a question in the survay or a triva question for elegebility for the draw or suggesting a prize?
