I am doing a research paper on alternative browsers

Hi,

My name is Sylvia and I am a student at Daytona Beach Community College. I have chosen to research alternative browsers for my Business Writing class.

I am looking for as many resources as I can in order to do a thorough research paper. I am interested in learning  about the history and features of various web browsers.

The main purpose of my project is to give my readers some knowledge of several alternative browsers for them to choose from. In the next few weeks, I plan to evaluate Firefox, Netscape, Opera, and Safari.

Any information in the form of hyperlinks, articles, and books is most appreciated.

Thank you,

 Sylvia Roy

The word "alternative" doesn't match Firefox anymore. Firefox is one of the MAIN browsers, the second on the rank. For instance, I don't use Internet Explorer since 2005 - when I met Firefox. If people could decide what browser to use before they were presented to IE, they would NOT choose IE.

I really appreciate that you have chosen this topic, but I would like to put your attention to one thing: Firefox is not alternative browser!. It was easy to say which browser was alternative several years ago, but now, Firefox is leading in many market segments, like home users in many countries...

I'd say that your best resources would be Wikipedia.org and the
product pages of the browsers themselves.
The browser's homepage will give you quick and basic information about the product and what it offers (quick pitch), while the resources on Wikipedia.org are more comprehensive and thorough.

Since I'm an ex-Floridian I thought that I'd lend a hand, here are some good links. :)
You should consider including Camino the Web browser for Mac that uses Mozilla technology.

Browsers on Wikipedia.org
Firefox
Opera
Camino
Netscape
Safari
