Events Triage Call Notes - 8/10

1) Events in India:

FOSS.IN Conference (December 4-8)
Largest open source conference in India – very worthwhile for Mozilla to be apart of.
“Project days”
•    The organizers are looking to formalize the project days in the next week and a half
•    Great to propose: “Contributing to Mozilla” project day
•    Similar to our developer days
•    There are also BoF’s at FOSS.IN that we could try to get involved in
•    Sethb to follow up with Indian contributors and Mary with DevRel team

Localization “Sprint Day” in India (TBD)
•    6 languages that are currently in localization process for Firefox
          o    4 or 5 languages have been started and need a lot of work
•    Get localizers together and hammer out all of these languages
•    Coordinate together with Mozilla 24 potentially
•    We could also tie it into this project day at FOSS.IN
•    Doing it earlier to maintain momentum; although, there is more of a critical mass at Project Days

Other MoCo-ers who are interested in the project:
•    Jay Patel
•    Timr – a lot of experience and contacts in India
•    Axel would also be good to go

Software Freedom Day – 9/15
•    Team looking to create a package that we could roll up
•    UNC is having a huge event on 9/14.
•    Sethb to check and see if we have any contributors nearby that could speak.

One Course Open Source
•    Will pass on sending people for now.
          o    MoCo Events team to research East Coast enterprise conferences that might be appropriate.
