Gray box appears when inserting links

When posting a link, a window popped up where I could type/paste the URL and a tooltip. At the same time, a little gray box appeared at the top left corner of Firefox 2, and it won't go away. I have had this problem a few times on others sites, not sure of the cause. The only solution is to close Firefox and restart it.

If anyone has information on the cause of this problem and solution other than closing Firefox, please let me know.

I see no EDIT button to go back and change my initial post. Is there no way to edit it? Sorry about that. Html code is not one of my better skills, and it's always trial & error to find what works. Most forums I use have bbcode.

I have a feeling that this gray box would appear when inserting images too. I just can't tell cause it's already there.

Anyway, I was wrong about the box going away when I close Firefox. The only way to get rid of it is to RESTART WINDOWS! (This is Windows XP by the way.)
