New Mozilla Event Process

You might have noticed that I've posted the Mozilla events calendar.  We're streamlining our events program to ensure that every event and conference Mozilla and our community participates in gets the attention it
deserves.  We've also created an alias (events@mozilla.com) for you to submit event suggestions or let know us know which events you're attending.

Event Process:

a) Send request to events@mozilla.com

b) In that request, please include (if you can):

  • requestor
  • event
  • time/dates
  • topic
  • audience (see below for definitions)
  • Suggested level of participation and cost

c) Mary Colvig and the event drivers (cbeard, Rhian, Seth b, Kaori,
Tristan, Schrep and Shaver) will triage the request and make a
recommendation on participation and/or contact the requestor.

d) We'll conduct bi-weekly meetings to triage events and discuss
status. Community and employees are free to join. Meetings to be held
at 11 a.m. PDT on every other Friday (TBD). Dial-in: +650-903-0800, ext
91, ID 248

I like the idea of a Mozilla event calendar. How about offering this as an iCalendar file, so people can easily subscribe to it with their favourite calendar tool (like Mozilla Sunbird/Lightening, Apple iCal or Google Calendar).

How about also adding the most important release dates of Mozilla software?

I'm really enjoying how much that you all at Mozilla are sharing everything that is planned and that is going on.
It gives us all more of a sense of inclusion.

As far as events, can I request that Asa attends a very special engagement this coming October 29th and that he arrives in a Firefox hot air balloon to kick off my 40th birthday party?
He can drop t-shirts from up above.
