I have a dream.
It's called Firefox "ChillZoNe" Lounge. The site has interactive Theme styled "Rooms".Each filled with a continuam of accessible online tools, and resources found on "concise freeware" that a user can access w/o having to register or download anything. Has anyone seen the truely amazing stuff to be had on the "concise freeware's" site?I built an entire internet buisness using nothing but things I found using the site. From the $$$ I made doing online surveys, that in turn verified a paypal acct., to my free U.S. personal telephone # with voice messaging, and fax.Why not put up a site that you could go on and go from one tool to the next w/o having to go through any hoops or hassels. We have "Express PDF"(self explanatory),a JPG to Text, , another media convertor changes everthing to anything. No lie Check here! There is a Emergency Free Clinic. C Cleaner checks and cleans for preventive care, while PC Pal notifys you of any possible problem, then helps you fix it.Of course the list doesn't end there. There is a DELUXE office suite. With OpenOffice&OpenofficePremium,or ThinkFree Available for starters. Folder Share supplies a free2 GB folder,DaFont for your font needs, Theres even a Free buisness card maker !Mabey join  in on the fun in the "coffee shop" and read a free online book on audio w/ Librivox.while filling out the address label to recieve your free gourmet coffee sample. Anyways Theres alot to be had on "concise Freeware" And I am going to turn it on all at once,in one spot for all to use.Thats my dream ! If anyone wants to help me send me a email.
I have a ton of Questions for anyone with answers. One of them is if
anyone knows where I could get a domain donated for the project. I would also like to build a team of down individuals to make this a real team effort.

Since my last posting i have thought a little more about this, and i see a bigger picture now.By the way good comment on the ActiveX stuff. This is why i posted this. How about some more guideline ideas ?And i am not ading for "concise freeware" unless i am delusional Firefox must have some friends there. We are plastered all over the entire site.Anyways, i think this idea would work great if we broke all of these open source, user friendly tools into groups like
Audio/Visual,OfficeSuite,Sec.&Maint.Repair,and deffinately WebDevelopment. These can all be found together at the
"ChillZoNe" where the user can slip into different "themed" skins to customize the site's look and feel. Then we can build seperate extensions for each group.I emailed a few places begging for domain space and service.Who knows I might get lucky.

...you seem to be advertising concisefreeware.com.

Now, more on the idea...

So you're thinking of making a website that can let you go from 1 tool to another to help you with you everyday tasks.

Nice idea, but to put up a website like that, that could even use PC Pal, would involve ActiveX controls, and we want to avoid those, since only IE uses those. (Have you noticed? I'm not saying WIE anymore...)

Maybe you could make a client or something...

Look at this blog entry... if it becomes outdated.

Hey Aztec13, I think this is an amazing idea! If you want my help, I am very willing to give it where I can. As for a free domain, I've no idea where you could get one donated. However, one of the SFx staff may be willing to donate one, or you could enter the Add-Ons Promotion Contest, where you're in with a chance to win one.

Hope I can be of service, The_BitMaster
