the dummiest question - where do i insert my site's url?

where is it?

also,  what does the variable t in the linking in url ( on the banners, buttons and stuff )  stands for?

It's not a dumb question -- it is kind of hidden. 

Click on "my account" in the sidebar, then the Edit tab.  Just below the row of tabs is another row of links, including "account settings" and "personal information."  It's on the "personal information" page.

The linking URL will just track you by the id variable.  As for t, it's used to keep track of which banner is being followed.  It's mostly for stats, but there are some cases where it matters: banners promoting Thunderbird, or Firefox Flicks, for instance, will redirect to a different site.

If you're using a custom banner with the affiliate link, just set t=1 (matching the text link).
