Spread Firefox Reaches 200,000 Members!

On September 14, 2004 an idea became a reality when
Blake Ross and Asa Dotzler founded Spread Firefox.
Little did they know at the time that Spread Firefox would
become the most successful open source marketing campaign
ever and in the World.

No one could ever imagine that a small group of people would
evolve into a powerful volunteer based community that would be
the driving force behind Firefox’s success and would continue to be
up to this day.

We are Firefox enthusiasts, advocates of open source, men and women
from all corners of the globe and we range in ages between 10 and 60.
We take Firefox with us everywhere we go, we tell friends and family about
it, we post flyers, put a button on our blogs and we come up with great marketing projects that reach millions. Each and every one of us is spreading the word about Firefox, and we’re all making a difference.

Today Spread Firefox has just reached its 200,000th member.
We’re one cohesive community with one mission, Spread Firefox.

Welcome susu as 200000th member :-)

Is it possible the have a graph or something like that on the growth of Sfx? Do you have any idea of how many of the users are active?
200.000 could be a nice point to show some statistics about the community.

There are several ways to count "active" users:

  • Users whose affiliate links pick up traffic.
  • Users who read the site. (Or at least those who read it while logged in.)
  • Users who actually post on the site.
I'd go with users who've shown up recently, even if they just read, but it would be interesting to compare all three categories.
