IT department: Blackboard doesn't work well in IE on Vista - use Firefox instead...

Cincinnati State, like many colleges, uses the Blackboard content management system. On the main entry page, there is an "Information Technology News" box (news from the IT department).

This is the current news:

Attention students using the Vista operating system:

Some major Blackboard functions do not work properly when using an Internet Explorer browser on a Vista operating system. Using the Firefox browser will allow you to use all Blackboard functions.

See http://mycstate.cincinnatistate.edu for the actual announcement...

It is good to see that they're telling people about Firefox, even if it's just because Microsoft's IE7 has some unexpected flaws in it (leave it to Microsoft to break existing technology with their new technology...)

EDIT: This is in reply to the comment below this... I didn't see the "Reply" link until after I posted this.

...telling them not to use Vista at all. Vista sucks.

Microsoft thinks they can just change behavior of their products and force people to update and change all their systems each time. It's about time they start paying the price for this arrogance.

I hope to see more announcements like this.
