Why do you hate/like IE7?

Why do you hate or like Ie7? I personally hate it, it's' slow, it's unreliable, there's very little add-ons compared to Firefox. Firefox's speed is fast, ( I have dial-up), sometimes Ie7 crashes when it loads Microsoft.com, now that's weird.

My rating for Firefox 2.0.01.  10-out-of-5

My rating for Internet Explorer 7 0-out-of-5

The page says that it's rumored that Bill Gates uses a Mac,
and said nothing about Firefox. Was that information on a different page? You're right, though, he did buy his
mom a Mac. Besides that, there are some reasons why Windows sucks, and it says that Bill didn't invent DOS,
and that's about it.

Back on the topic of IE7, I hate it because:

  1. It's ugly and uncustomisable.
  2. It's old and slow.
  3. Microsoft takes advantage of people who can't tell one OS apart from another, and stuffs Windows and IE down their throat.
  4. There is nothing (good) it has that Firefox doesn't.
  5. Rumor has it that even Bill Gates doesn't use it. If its own creator won't use it, why should you?

I hate IE because it's slow, unsecure and OLD. But first of all it doesn't respect the standards of xhtml e css and this freaks me out. It's unbelievable that some webmasters continue to make web site "only IE compatible"  and to spread this "mistake of the web"

Whenever I use IE7, and click a link in my email it opens a new window unlike Firefox it opens in a new tab..which is more gooder :)

You can also set Firefox to open those links in a new tab instead of a new window.

Just go to Tools->Options, click on Tabs, and the first control you see is "New pages should be opened in:"

Change it from "a new window" to "a new tab."

I could go on for hours ranting about how I hate IE.

But just a few things: Firefox is everywhere I want it to be. It runs on Mac, Linux, Windows 9x/NT/2000/XP/2003/Vista , BeOS, and even freaking OS/2!! The current IE only runs on XP SP2/2003/Vista.

Firefox has all kinds of new technologies built in like SVG. IE sticks its nose up at such things.

Also, I can easily use multiple versions of Firefox on the same machine. That ability is criticle to some people. The only ofically "suported" way to do that with IE is to use VirtualPC - anything else is just a hack that may not work 100%.

And finally - Internet Explorer is Evil! EEEEEVVIIIIIIIIIILL!!!!

You're all right about IE7 crashing on microsoft.com since
1.Bill Gates uses an iMac.
2.Thats not Windows.
3.He bought his mom an iMac.
4.Bill Gates doesn't use IE7.
5.He uses Firefox!!! (Really!)

I got this information from here.
