I think right now Firefox has a stable base of users to build off and i think it is time we thought spreading Thunderbird. Firefox has gotten most of the attention now i think we give thunderbird some attention too and help it by doing the same thing we did when Firefox first came out telling our friends and posting flyer's up. Just telling people how good of a e-mail client this is and why they should use it over something like outlook or outlook express

Thunderbird simply doesn't have the same marketing capacity as firefox. How many users actually use any email client at all? I think webmail has definitely reduced their importance.

Apparently (I hope this is correct),
Thunderbird has been downloaded 38,602,444 and counting.
Yes, Web based e-mail is ok, but it lacks speed, customization, and other features. Your e-mail client manages your Web based accounts.
I have several Gmail and Yahoo Mail accounts and instead of visiting different sites and typing in user names and passwords, they’re all forwarded to Thunderbird where I can manage them in one place.

Like Firefox, you can customize Thunderbird with themes, extensions and even a calendar extension. Plus, it’s easier to maintain one address book rather than the several that you may have online.
I love using Thunderbird (can’t you tell).

I hope by the time they get the calender into Thunderbird the popularity of Thunderbird will rise.

There is a calendar extension called
Lightning for Thunderbird which is an
integrated calendar for Thunderbird.
It works great.
