Although the Mozilla Foundation may be a bit overzealous at times when
it comes to protecting it's copyrights, the truth is that the GNU's
haste for something to hold on to has the potential to kill one of
FLOSS's biggest successes: Firefox. Here are 5 reasons to creep up
behind the newly born 'rat' and throttle it.

By the way, Brian McKenna has a fair overview of 5 reasons to _support_ it here: http://brianmckenna.org/blog/linux/5-reasons-to-support-iceweasel/

Mozilla can cooperate to solve the problem:
1. Mozilla adds the two security patches to Firefox
2. Mozilla changes the --enable-official-branding switch, so all unofficial builds use the IceWeasel name and logo (I really like the first one)
3. Maybe, add a note to Help > About saying: "This is IceWeasel, an unofficial Firefox build."

This way, there will always be a completely free Firefox, supplied by Mozilla, with a recognized name and logo (IceWeasel), and an official Firefox, which can be trusted to come directly from Mozilla.

unfortunately on the battle of Mozilla vs. Debian, I'm for Debian just because I'm anti-copyright.  But, I definitely definitely agree that number 2 should be taken into action.

I just downloaded IWl 1.5.0.7. Thanks in reverse!

EDIT: Actaully, the name could be improved. Just nothing like Firefox.
