I love to hear news like that. I've been on Linux for about 10 months and it's been so enjoyable, my computers are doing what I want them to do, no unwanted bloatware and spyware, no viruses. It's great.

Enjoy it now that you are free!

I like too and is very simply to install Kubuntu or Ubuntu on a Win pc, you must have some free space on Win partition.

- Visit ubuntu.com and dl. your preferred iso image burn it on  a cd, remove the iso dowloaded file (to get more free space)
- From Win defrag the Win partition
- Boot your pc from Kubuntu-cd click on desktop install icon
- Redim the existent Win32 or ntfs partition to get 6 Gb or more of free space
- In the free space create two partition:
a) 1 Gb for swap (swap  filesystem)
b) 5 Gb or more for Kubuntu (ext3 filesystem)
- go on with the simple install procedure
- Reboot and choose from the Grub menu wich os you like to start.

I prefer KDE windows manager and i have installed Kubuntu.
You can run KDE on Ubuntu installing KDE.

FF works very well.
I wrote this reply from a Win/Kubuntu pc started on Linux Kubuntu OS and FF Beta 2

The newest version is 7.04 Feisty Fawn. KUbuntu uses the KDE interface, XUbuntu uses XFCE, and Edubuntu is for Education. The original Ubuntu (which i prefer) uses the GNOME interface. Desktop isos act as live CDs and can also install, and alternative isos (More Advanced) are for just installing, but they use less system resources while installing. The Ubuntu 7.04 Desktop Live CD is what most people get. It's all preference really.
