Redirect to international Firefox download page?

Posted by Josh Snyder on Mon, 04/17/2006 - 04:35Counter Troubleshooting

I apologize in advance if this is in the wrong forum--please let me know if so.

Currently, the link I give people redirects them to the standard download Firefox page in English. However, I am trying to focus on South America, so I would like to have a URL to give people that will both credit me for the download and redirect them to the Spanish language Firefox page.

Is this already possible? If so, will you be so kind as to point me to the solution? If not, any ideas about why not and/or when it might become possible?

 Thanks in advance,

Josh

"Counter Troubleshooting" may be the wrong forum, but the question is valid and important. It has been brought up several times already, but a solution is still not found:

I think it would be best to have a redirection at getfirefox.com based on accept-language-header of the user.

Sounds like there is certainly a lot demand out there for this...

Thanks for the heads up. I fear that I need the points to track how my various ideas are succeeding, so I suppose that for the moment I'll just direct people how to get to the other languages from the English download page. Not much of a workaround, but hey, what can you do?

Thanks for your help,
Josh

Even http://www.mozilla.com/firefox/all.html is English only.

And if you want to link directly you can't use the sfx-links and you don't get sfx-points (not that they are much use, but they are part of the fun here at sfx).
