User Profile

I have been using Firefox for some time and built up an extensive list of bookmarks.  Today when I tried to log on, a window appeared asking for my user frofile.  I clicked on "defult" but the message came that this was already in use.  I then entered a new user profile name and successfully logged on, but I have lost all my bookmarks.  My question is, how can I log on as the the original "defult" user?  I cannot find the window to enable me to do this.

 Thanks.

I had the same thing happen to me.  This is serious  - where are my Bookmarks?  That's over 2.5 years of accumulated work!   How do we recover them?  ( the reply (?) comment to twills is a recursive link to the same comment and of no use).

I had a similar problem once a year or so ago, but that was on Ubuntu and the solution was a Linux specific thing. Here is the link to the Moz page again:-

I always think that its a good idea to store bookmarks with del.icio.us or  Glaxstar's excellent Ownarea extension. That way they are accessible remotely and will always survive a crash or whatever. Hope the link helps.
