Installing Quicktime!

Hi everyone,

I go to this site called YTMND.com, a humor site. Anyway, whenever I go to a page around YTMND.com, I am asked to download a plug-in to play a background sound within the site. It says that I have to install Apple Quicktime, even though I have Quicktime updated to the latest version. So, Firefox checks for a download of a plug-in, and it says that it's Unavailable. After its done, it just leaves me hanging. Can anyone give me a solution?

I've actually observed the same problem myself.  I feel that it is important to boast of compatibility as part of marketing Firefox.  If there are problems such as this, involving popular software that most internet users need, then this means there are problems and incompatibility issues with Firefox.  I personally feel that it may be a good idea to say here at least that there is a solution if sonebody happens to discover it.  And, of course, if anybody does happen to find it, I'd love to hear what it is!

Hi,

This isn't a tech support site, this is all about marketing Firefox.

Please visit the mozillazine forums at forums.mozillazine.org for tech support.

Tech support or no...there's a definite issue when trying to view anything Quicktime. For some, entire web pages seem blocked...it's pathetic. The fact of the matter is...this is frustrating to alot of people and the stew is spilling over into other forums. How about it Firefox, is this hassle going to be eliminated or not???

Plug-ins like Adobe Flash are "Firefox automatic install friendly", which means you can use the plugin finder, click install, and continue browsing.

Apple hasn't made a automatic install version of their plugin yet, so you have to manually download the plugin and install it.
