See Frames

I have a website that uses frame.  When I downloaded Firefox I cannot see the frame.  What coding will allow using a frame and seeing it on Firefox?

Thanks for your help.

1. Do not use frames. Frames cause problems and extra work to the website builder, maintainer and the users of the website. I don't know any professional website builder who would use frames, but propably all of them have used them. Usually people learn by time how much trouble frames give and they stop using them. Normally they switch to use tables and pixel sized images and then they move to use divs and css. Frames make bookmarking more difficult. People who find the page via Google or other search engines can end up in a frame without navigation, page might scale badly or just look bad with scrollbars in the middle. Scrolling can be difficult. Browsers that show only one frame at a time are not so nice in frame-sites. Sending link of a specific sub-page is harder etc.

 2. Usually you just need to validate your pages to make it work with Firefox and other browsers also. Check out how many errors you have and what they are: http://validator.w3.org/

3. If you need more specific help, submit url to your site. And ask the question in somewhere else, as this site is for spreading the Firefox. This is not a help forum for users or website builders and therefore you won't get the best possible help from here.

I build with frames, it works very well if the pages are built correctly.

As you'll see, this site is fully W3C compliant, it renders perfectly in Firefox 1.5, check it out yourself.

Oh yes, they're still supported, so they will still work, but really they are generally a bad practice. All of the reasons mentioned are valid and pertinent. Besides functionality they usually look like crap, especially without styling, and they simply feel very ameture (no offense). While there may be a couple of valid reasons for using an iframe, using framesets just isn't a good idea.

I agree, avoid frames at all costs. There are some very specific scenarios where they might be necessary (I can think of one), but frames should be the very last alternative.

Furthermore, if you still need assistance, go to the Mozillazine Forums. This site is not for Firefox support, only Firefox marketing.
