I really like the "Top Posts" section which features blog posts and forum topics with many good ratings. But I think maybe the posts stay too long in this "top-5-section".

The whole thing is a self-energising system, because the top posts get more attention and therefore more votes. This makes it unnecessary difficult for new topics to enter. In the last month only one new topic made it into the top 5. One of the others is over 3 months old now.

Perhaps the postings age should be considered when it goes to the top-5. The posts score could be reduced after a while or new posts get a kind of bonus. Making the top-5 a top-10 list might also be a good idea. The really good oldies could go to the "Featured Projects" section.

I recently browsed through the image Galleries at sfx. There are some nice ones too. I'd wish there would be a "Top Images" section too. These pictures get far too less attention.
