Google Logo Idea

Posted by Giarknot on Mon, 12/05/2005 - 20:15Firefox Marketing Ideas

I know, It's already been firefox's birthday but for number 2 maybe we could get google to change their logo. Basically change the O bit of the google to the firefox logo. Good Idea? Maybe we could get it sooner and have a 150million download milestone and put it on then.

Why don't we make it so when you click on the FireFox logo it takes you to an unstoppable download and you automatically get FireFox! That way people will have to try it! and whoever made the one made all out of the firefoxes i like that one =P

The Goal of Spread Firefox isn't to FORCE people to use Firefox; It is for them to CHOOSE to use firefox.

Lets try to educate Internet users that there is choice. People who make their own choices feel in control and are happier with using a product.

People who are forced to use a product do not like it...

Yes, let's follow in the path of spyware and viruses and cause users to download Firefox without consent. Would you use a program that installed itself without your consent, or would you think it is a virus?

Fantastic idea. So many people would be curious about Firefox after seeing it.

However, would Google be concerned that they are advertising a product? When I've seen the logo changed it's normally because of special holidays and things.

Prime advertising space though.

I remember something about Google coming from Mozilla... I'm not sure if it's true or not... but I think it's a great idea!

EDIT: And btw, Google is already a sponsor of Firefox (Note that the Firefox Start page is on Google), so why not ask them for a little bit more support?

EDIT2: Okay, so someone already DID suggest that, but whatever.

I don't think Google would put a FF logo in their page logo unless they were planning to merge, on whatever scale, with mozilla.

Submitted by ALIENDUDE5300 on Tue, 06/27/2006 - 13:44.

They Do It with other things, and they basically did merge when they gave us the Firefox Homepage on Google.

Why wait for Firefox 2.0?
Why wait for the next download milestone?
Why does the this have to only be for the Google home page?

Google has the cash to start placing their logo with the Firefox logo on things. Imagine this, take one of these great looking logos here and place it on the hood of a Nascar or on the wall at some sporting event.

Basically, I'm saying that don't limit these logos to just the Google home page. This opens the door for people to think Google and Firefox while they are away from their computer.

Submitted by rhs08 on Mon, 02/27/2006 - 00:58.

Millions of people use firefox and use the search bar (which redirects them to google) creating popularity with google, they should return the favor =].
