Ipswitch Article Mentions FF

In Ipswitch's January newsletter the author suggests that using an alternate browser will help to cutdown on *ware saying 'Firefox is not as vulnerable to Adware and Spyware'. However, he also says FireFox is 'not as fully-featured as Internet Explorer'. I strongly disagree with that statement and sent the following email to the editor:

Hi Editor,

I was impressed that Mike Mulryan said that using an alternate browser such as FireFox was a solution to defend yourself against adware and spyware however...

I must disagree with his statement that FireFox is "not as fully-featured as IE.

FireFox is lean and efficient for sure, but it is most definitely a fully featured browser. I think it is even more fully featured than IE because of, to name a few, tabbed browsing, integrated search bar and pop-up blocker. FF does not support ActiveX but that is one feature that I do NOT want since it is one of the main conduits that crackers use to wreak havoc on PCs. If those features are not enough for you go grab any one of the 184 extensions currently listed on the FireFox Extensions page. If there isn't an extension there that scratches your features itch you can fairly easily create your own extension for FireFox with out having to be a code-wiz.
