How to compare browsers
Intel® Mash Maker: Mashups for the Masses
At first it only looks like as just another new extension for Firefox. With a look downward on the web page it becomes interesting.
Intel® Mash Maker is an extension to your existing web browser that allows you to easily augment the page that you are currently browsing with information from other websites. As you browse the web, the Mash Maker toolbar suggests Mashups that it can apply to the current page in order to make it more useful for you. For example: plot all items on a map, or display the leg room for all flights.

We intend to produce Internet Explorer and Safari versions later.
* Firefox 2.0 or later

Why Firefox is Blocked
While browser wars slowly calming down, erred single fighters try further to undermine the liberties of the users. With the web page http://whyfirefoxisblocked.com/index1.php a poor more madly guy tries to call the webmasters of this world to block firefox because one can protect oneself successfully with it and with various extensions from penetrant advertisement. apart from his technical unawareness Danny Carlton aka Jack Lewis walks on the way to a common next to each other into the opposite direction and calls for fight. capable webmasters will probably hardly support this.

Mahalo - a new search engine
A new search engine named Mahalo has been launched. All entries will be examined.
Looking for "Mozilla Firefox" displays a lot of more or less known links. First Place at Mahalo Top 7 is the official site of Mozilla.com.
At this place congratulations to Ken Saunders occupying place 7 with Access Firefox.

Google Trends
A relative new option at Google is searching for trends. You may search for whatever you are interested in and will receive the trend for the last years up to now. Try Google Trends with "Firefox" or "Mozilla".
The only disadvantage of trends is, that you can look only into the past and not yet into the future. I believe firmly in the fact that Google already works on it. ;o)

my life, my car, my browser
This contribution was written after reading the article "Firefox users lead the way in keeping up to date" at ars technica, a reference of gialloporpora and a comment of jan at Foxiewire.
my life, my car, my browser
I pursue for a long time the discussion about the „correct“ browser. I always ask myself, which browser is correct one for me . My requirements in terms of it are as in the real life. I look for something that meets my needs, something that is useful for me, something, which I can deal with well, something, which makes fun.
As a young adult and student I had a Volkswagen. That was used and cheap. With him I could drive more or less fast from A to B. With this Volkswagen I drove to the university, to my work, to my girlfriends. If somewhat did not function, I could repair it. Exactly the same was issued to me with my first computer programs. If somewhat was not so programmed, as it pleased me, I had changed it evenly. At that time I was young, always on discovery journey, and tried everything out.
After the study I had good jobs, good work and a good income. Suddenly my Volkswagen was too small, too slowly, too „cheaply“. I could afford a comfortable new car of the elevated middle class. That brought me very fast and very comfortably to my meetings, customers and into vacation. Nevertheless I tinkered at the car or let tinker to it. Auxiliary headlight, broader tires, another exhaust. I adapted my car to my desires. During this time I used ready-to-use software. Those was not expensive only, but did not function mostly in such a way, as I wanted that. That was and lies because of the fact, that the programmers often do not know the need of the user at all. These malfunctions went down regarding the everyday life stress or caused still more stress.
Today I have a calmer job. I can steer my dates. I can specify even, how much stress I would like to have. And I have a bicycle. There is the experiment-joyful little boy in me still however. Only the experiments became somewhat harmless. Everything in my environment is to function in such a way, as I would like it. If necessary I would like my environment to adapt. I would like to feel well.
Now here everyone will wait for the story about the browser. Well, actually I am already in the middle of it. The student tinkers somewhat cheap together for himself. The young manager uses something, which is allegedly modern, well and expensive. The adult uses something, which is his content. I will not talk here now about the pro and cons of the life, a car or a browser. Everyone must find these things out for itself. I am content with my life, my bicycle and my browser. By the way, I drive a Kettler mountainbike and use Firefox.
